About Us

OUR PRINCIPLES

Emet v'emunah. Truth and faith. These are two of the basic principles which guide our congregation. Judaism, for us, is a force which is vibrant and alive. By being true to our faith, we have built a strong and meaningful community here in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County, New Jersey.

FAMILY

For Temple Beth Ahm, one of our most important goals is to create a strong sense of family for our members. Beth Ahm means "house of the people". But for anyone involved in our congregation, it is more that just a house; it is a home.

Our Temple brings people together through a rich array of both religious and social activities. We celebrate life as a family, and we comfort one another in times of sorrow and loss. The strength of the Temple Beth Ahm family provides us with a link to our past and serves as a foundation for the future.

Regardless for whether you come to Temple Beth Ahm as a married couple, a family, or as a single member, our congregation can provide you with the security of being part of 'am yisrael, the Jewish people.

INVOLVEMENT

Because we place a high priority on Judaism as a relevant force in our lives, we help one another to better understand our religion through exciting educational programs. The synagogue provides formal Jewish instruction for our children, regardless of age, from kindergarten through Hebrew high school. We also offer a full spectrum of adult education courses, including informal, social get-togethers, basic Hebrew instruction, and, for the more ambitious, classes in Talmud.

Our religious services are truly meaningful and inspiring. Strong congregational participation, in both English and Hebrew, provides men and women with an equal opportunity to worship. T'filah, prayer, can be a personal expression of your involvement with the soul of Judaism at Temple Beth Ahm.

During services, members have an opportunity to learn more about Judaism and themselves through our Rabbi's sermons. They are not only educational, but are also provocative and relevant to our time. Another aspect of our Shabbat and holiday services is an Oneg or Kiddush. This is a nice opportunity to socialize with friends and family in a Jewish setting.

Indeed, Temple Beth Ahm has something for everyone. Some of our other programs and activities include:

  • Young Couples Club
  • Sisterhood and Men's Club
  • Family Shabbat dinners
