SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 8:00 PM, SELICHOT  After ma'ariv and havdalah, Temple Beth Ahm presents the film by David Mamet "Homicide." Please note that this is a change from the information in the Shofar.  Discussion with the Rabbi to follow, then our Selichot service at about 10:30 pm.  Come and hear the melodies of the season and get ready for Rosh Hashanah!

All past presidents of the Temple are invited to march with b'nai mitzvah from this past year in the Torah Procession.  Please meet in the school wing at 6:00 pm sharp. 

Saturday, September 18, 9:00 am, Yizkor at 11:45 am, Rabbi's discussion at 4:30 pm, Mincha at 5:15 pm and Shofar blowing at 7:46 pm.

RESERVE YOUR VIP PARKING FOR THE HIGH HOLIDAYS  Reserve your VIP parking within the Temple parking lot for $200. Contact the office for more information.

DEDICATE A HIGH HOLIDAY MACHZOR For $118 a special gold book plate will be placed in the front of a High Holiday machzor. It will be reserved for you to use during the holidays. For more information contact Janet Kaplan, 732-721-1425.

HIGH HOLIDAY SET-UP, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 9:45 AM  Volunteers are needed to help set up the chairs and books in preparation for the High Holiday Services.

ORDER YOUR LULAV AND ETROG The Temple is accepting orders until, Monday, September 7. They can be picked up Tuesday, September 21.  Cost is $36 due at the time of your order.

BABY SITTING SERVICES FOR THE HIGH HOLIDAYS Sisterhood has arranged for babysitting during the following times for children ages 2 to 7. Rosh Hashanah, Thursday & Friday, September 9 & 10, 9 am to 1 pm. Kol Nidre, Friday, September 17, 5:45 to 7:45 pm. Yom Kippur, Saturday 18, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and 4:45 to 7:15 pm. TASHLICH, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 6:30 PM  On the first day of Rosh Hashanah we will meet behind the Matawan Regional High School at the creek.  Bring a few morsels of bread to toss! Mincha (afternoon service) will follow immediately after Tashlich.

WELCOMING NEWBORNS On the second day of Rosh Hashanah, Friday, September 10, we will bless babies born in our community in the last year. Member's children and grandchildren are eligible. Please email the baby's English and Hebrew name, birth date and parents or grandparents names to the office, templebethahm@juno.com. Also, let us know if you and the baby will be here that morning.  For more information contact the office.

SAVE THE DATE, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 12:30 PM, SUKKAH BUILDING and BBQ The Men's Club will be building the sukkah. Adults only please. More information to come.

TWO VERSES - On Saturday, September 25, the Shabbat of Sukkot, we read from the Book of Ecclesiastes.  Anyone who would like to learn two verses to chant or read in Hebrew, or read in English, is welcome.  It's a great way to participate!  Contact the rabbi for more information. 

SUKKAH HOP, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25  After Shabbat services we will enjoy a progressive meal and tour the Sukkot at homes near the Temple. All are welcome, watch for more information.

TALMUD STUDY on select Sunday mornings at 10:00 am.  On Sunday, September 26, learn texts on Sukkot with the rabbi. Ask the rabbi for details, all are welcome, no Hebrew knowledge necessary. 

TOT SHABBAT, MINI MINYAN AND JR CONGREGATION  These Shabbat morning services for our children will start in October due to the holidays in September. More information to come.

SIMCHAS TORAH, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 7 PM & FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1, 9:00 AM  Mark your calendars.

PRAYER TALK!  First Sunday of every month, starting October 3, 9:00 am in the library.  Do prayer services go too fast?  Do you feel self-conscious, like you don't know enough Hebrew to keep up?  Do you have questions about prayer?  In each of these interactive sessions, we will focus on one passage and really unpack it!  Ask the rabbi for details, all are welcome, no Hebrew knowledge necessary. 

TBA MEN'S CLUB  This social and service organization is dedicated to promoting involvement of Jewish men in Jewish life. They have a wide variety of activities to become involved with. SISTERHOOD ROSH CHODESH PROGRAMOctober 6, November 8, December 9  Michelle Rich will be leading these programs with her great knowledge and spirit. Save these dates and see more information in the September Shofar.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10, 10:00 AM The Men's Club is sponsoring a Men's Health Seminar. Several guest speakers will be discussing pertinent health issues for men.

SAVE THE DATE! SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, 8 PM  Cantor Paul Zim and a klezmer band will give a benefit concert for the Temple! With more than 25 albums he appeals to all ages!  Watch for more information.
