We are pleased and excited to announce that Melissa Berman has been engaged as the new Cantor of Temple Beth Ahm.
Cantor Berman will lead services on each Shabbat weekend when there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and on other selected dates.
Ms. Berman is a graduate of Duke University where she graduated cum laude, receiving a B.A. as a music major.
During that time she served as Religious Education Vice President for Hillel and led services for Shabbat.
Last summer she served as a Counselor for USY on Wheels and then returned to Duke to serve as High Holiday Hazzan.
Melissa spent a year at the Conservative Yeshiva (Fuchsberg Center) in Jerusalem and is currently a third year student
at the Cantorial School of The Jewish Theological Seminary. She has performed as a Guest Soloist at Congregation Beth-El
in New London, CT and Temple Israel of Great Neck, as well as appearing in a number of operas and theatrical productions.
She will be instrumental in making our newest "young adults" feel supportive on their special day when they implement the
training they have received by Cantor Ron Sucher.
We welcome Cantor Berman to Temple Beth Ahm and look forward to davening together with her.
