Shalom! Temple Beth Ahm is a warm, family oriented synagogue, and I am honored and thrilled to be its rabbi. I grew up in Southfield Michigan near Detroit. My family and I belonged to a large Conservative synagogue, and I was very active in United Synagogue Youth. I attended the University of Michigan, and graduated in 1991 with a degree in Psychology. I was accepted to the Jewish Theological Seminary's Rabbinical School in 1993, and after six years of study in Los Angeles, New York, and Israel, I was ordained in 1999.
After serving as the Assistant Rabbi at Beth David Synagogue in Greensboro, North Carolina for five years, I decided that I wanted to lead my own congregation. I began to search for a community with which I share values: a love of Jewish life and learning, and the desire to share that love with everyone, from young children to seniors.
If you are looking for such a spiritual home, Temple Beth Ahm is the right place! You can feel the energy here during services, classes, and programs - it is truly uplifting. Furthermore, our congregation is volunteer driven. There are over twenty committees on which dedicated members serve, lending their talents to the betterment of our community and of the Jewish people.
As the rabbi, I work hard for the benefit of each and every member of the Temple. I bring my passion for Judaism to the community, and I am excited to work together toward common goals for the congregation.
