About Rabbi Lisa Malik

Before becoming the rabbi of Temple Beth Ahm, Rabbi Lisa Malik served as the spiritual leader of Suburban Jewish Community Center Bnai Aaron in the Philadelphia suburbs for 7 years.  She was also the founder and lead teacher of Club Nashim: Classes for the Minds, Bodies, & Souls of Jewish Women.  Rabbi Malik grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved to East Brunswick, NJ when she was a teenager.  She was the Hebrew valedictorian of the Yeshivah of Flatbush.  After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business, she worked as a Marketing Associate and Assistant Brand Manager for Procter & Gamble and as an Account Executive for Foote, Cone, & Belding advertising agency. After realizing her true calling, Rabbi Malik began to work in the Jewish community, first as the Education Director of Congregation Beth Sholom in San Francisco and then as a freelance education consultant and researcher.  She received her Ph.D. in Jewish Education & Administration from Stanford University and her rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. In 2004, she received the Cyrus Adler Prize, awarded each year to the outstanding student in the graduating class of the JTS Rabbinical School. Rabbi Malik and her husband, Professor/Cantor Adi Wyner, have a 15-year old son, Ariel, a 14-year old daughter, Eva, and a 9-year old daughter, Rivkah. The Malik-Wyners are delighted to be joining the TBA community! Rabbi Lisa Malik
