We're so glad that you've decided to join our Temple Beth Ahm family! Our congregation embraces members from a wide range of backgrounds and ways of Jewish living. We strive to build a community that welcomes individuals, couples, and families of diverse backgrounds and orientations to join, grow, and thrive with us. The Temple Beth Ahm community weaves us all together in an intimate environment, featuring vibrant egalitarian services that balance openness and modernity with traditional Jewish observances.

We adhere to traditional Jewish law, so some ritual activities are limited to those who are Jewish. To be considered Jewish, you must be either born to a Jewish mother or have undergone a traditional conversion to Judaism. If you converted to Judaism, please send your conversion certificate to Rabbi Edelstein (RabbiEdelstein@templebethahm.org)

Promise Program

It's up to you! We're in this together. Our synagogue can only thrive if we have the means to do so. In our promise membership model, we recognize that each of us has a different capacity to give. Therefore, we do not specify a required membership fee, but rely on each of our members to determine the commitment amount for themselves. Each spring, all members make a new commitment.

To determine your financial promise, it is important that you understand the financial needs of the synagogue. In order to cover our operating expenses for 2022-2023, the sustaining amount is $2,600 per 2-adult household per year. We understand that all members of our community have different financial situations and some may not be unable to promise at that level. We ask those of you who are able, to consider committing more than this sustaining amount. Together as a community, we can raise the funds necessary to sustain Temple Beth Ahm! The amount of your promise is entirely up to you—we ask that you make a promise you can keep. The volunteer leadership of our synagogue community will base next year's budget on promised support.

Thank you for your generous support of Temple Beth Ahm!

The following levels are designed to recognize those who support the synagogue for 2022-2023

(Commitments are on an annual basis)

  • Shomrim (Guardians) $5,000 or more

  • Bonim (Builders) $3,000 - $4,999

  • Tomchim (Sustainers) $2,600 - $2,999

  • Nadvanim (Donors) Any amounts below $2,599

Once your application is received, an office staff member will reach out to confirm your promise. What you give is confidential.

Along with our members’ financial commitments, we also need the help of volunteers to operate. It takes approximately 10,000 volunteer-hours to keep our TBA community running! Please indicate which kinds of activities you might be interested in as a volunteer. (Check as many as apply)
